ABOUT LECTRAN

LecTran’s Commitment to Powering the Future:

At LecTran, we recognize the critical energy crisis facing the United States, where the aging and heavily depreciated electric grid struggles to meet the soaring demands of energy-intensive industries like AI, data centers, and other critical power sectors. This demand far exceeds our current supply capabilities, and the gap will only widen in the future.

As a customer-centric organization, we are dedicated to doing things the right way—prioritizing our customers and being part of the solution, not the problem. With our expertise and commitment, LecTran strives to deliver reliable, sustainable transformer solutions to help bridge this energy shortfall and power progress responsibly.

WHO WE ARE

LecTran is the vision of founder Mark Fusina, a power industry veteran with over 35 years of experience spanning field engineering, leadership at global companies, and business development across the Gulf Coast.

From commissioning coal plants worldwide to leading transformer and substation projects at Schneider Electric and ABB T&D, Mark has dedicated his career to understanding power systems inside and out.

LecTran is the result of that journey: a company built on expertise, partnerships, and a commitment to engineering transformers that last longer, perform better, and support a sustainable future.

WHY CHOOSE LECTRAN

We utilize the latest advances in solid and liquid insulation systems allowing us to meet the latest IEEE/ANSI thermal class standards of 120, 130 and 140°C. Under normal loading conditions, these units will run much cooler than the thermal limits of the insulation system. Our upgraded designs have a longer lifespan than minimum spec 105°C units, exceptional reliability, enhanced mechanical strength of the windings, while offering improved environmental sustainability and efficiency, superior fire safety and additional loading capacity when needed.

Our factory has built many split secondary units very similar to yours under private label agreements for most of the major BESS suppliers.

On your units, we are utilizing modern solid and liquid insulation systems allowing us to meet the latest IEEE/ANSI thermal class standard of 130°C. To achieve this, we are using FR3 natural ester cooling fluid and thermally upgraded, epoxy resin diamond dotted winding insulation paper. Please see attached cut sheets and thermal charts.

ADVANTAGES

Under normal loading conditions these units will run much cooler than the thermal limits of the insulation system providing a more reliable, longer lifespan transformer. In addition, the use of epoxy resin dotted paper works to adhere the paper to the winding conductors thus enhancing the mechanical strength of the core and coil.

Another benefit of high temperature insulation systems is built in, increased loading capacity. On your units, the spec calls for a 40°C average ambient design for the hot Texas sun. With a 130°C thermal class, this allows for a hottest spot temperature with normal life expectancy loading of 120°C. This means these units can run up to an 80°C temperature rise. Per calculation this allows roughly 19% additional loading capacity.

Based on all the above, we are name plating these units 55/65/75° @ 4.7 / 5.3 / 6.0 MVA. So, per the name plate, your units will have roughly 13% additional loading capacity. Also, we are only providing the 55°C rating to indicate the temperature rise at 88% loading. This will be a 40°C average ambient / 65°C temperature rise design.

Focused Sectors and Segments

Lectran proudly supports a wide range of industries that rely on safe, stable, and efficient power distribution. Our transformers are engineered to meet the demands of mission-critical applications across both public and private sectors.

At Lectran, we understand that every industry has unique requirements. That’s why we go beyond standard specifications to deliver tailored transformer solutions that support long-term performance and energy efficiency.

Data Centers – Powering the massive infrastructure of data centers requires specialized transformers to ensure reliable and efficient energy delivery.

AI Driven Markets – The high computational demands of AI-driven markets necessitate robust power systems, with transformers playing a critical role in managing and distributing electricity.

BTM Power Generation –  Behind-the-meter power generation systems, such as solar panels and small-scale wind turbines, rely on transformers to step up or step down voltage for grid integration.

Battery Energy Storage –  Transformers are essential components in battery energy storage systems, regulating voltage to charge and discharge batteries and connect them to the grid.

Renewable Energy –  The integration of renewable energy sources like wind and solar into the electrical grid is made possible by transformers, which adjust voltage levels for seamless transmission.

Liquified Natural Gas – The complex process of liquifying natural gas and its subsequent regasification requires specialized transformers to operate the pumps, compressors, and other heavy machinery.

Electric Utilities – Transformers are the backbone of electric utilities, stepping up voltage for long-distance transmission and stepping it down for distribution to homes and businesses.

Bitcoin / digital currency – The energy-intensive process of Bitcoin mining and other digital currency operations relies on transformers to deliver a stable and substantial power supply to the mining rigs.

Diverse Industries – From manufacturing to transportation, various industries depend on transformers to adapt electricity to the specific voltage requirements of their machinery and processes.
